Press release 25/2019 22.07.2019

Autorlando Sport, back from the excellent results achieved in recent weeks at Trento-Bondone (GT class victory and 3rd place overall for Ghezzi), in Hungary in the C.E.R. (4th place finish for Fratti-Cabianca on 934) and CESANA-SESTRIERE (3rd place for Cerati), he appeared at Mugello with the couples Cerati-Chiesa (# 275) and Ghezzi-Camathias (# 276) on 718 Cayman GT4 for the 3rd round of the Sprint series of the Italian GT Championship.

Friday morning the first free practice session where the four riders begin to run-in the cars and warm-up the tires along all the 5.245 meters in the asphalt strip that extends between the Tuscan hills with the aim of reaching the end of FP2, at 5:30pm, with the right set-up for the qualifications of the following day. Qualifications that do not do justice to the potential of cars and drivers who see the Ghezzi-Camathias pair close in fourth place and Cerati-Chiesa in seventh place for race one, while for race two the crews earn the third and fourth places respectively on the grid.

In the very early afternoon of Saturday Race 1 starts at 13.10, proceeds smoothly and the classification speaks of a third place for Ghezzi-Camathias and 4th for Cerati-Chiesa, which however turns into a double podium following the disqualification at “engines-off” moments of the BMW #207 for technical irregularity. The podium becomes all of Stuttgart, with the Cayman # 251 of Ebimotors winning, 2nd the # 276, 3rd the # 275 that shorten the distance to the top of the BMW in the championship.
On Sunday morning, race two starts with both aggressive cars which hold the third and fourth positions for a long time, with Camathias in pressure on the second place for all the duration of his stint. Stop for the pits at the same time for the cars and also safety car on track; Ghezzi starts in third position and Cerati in seventh, positions that will keep up to the finish line. The cars fail to recover penalized also by a contact for both and they close as they left from the pit stop, third and seventh in the category, paying drivers and Team Autorlando for another weekend full of satisfactions. Worthy of note is the performance of the rider Riccardo Chiesa who at the debut on this track manages to keep up with the fastest.

The championship is therefore still open and the winners will be announced at Monza on the weekend of 18-19-20 October; all the drivers will count for the final standing only their 6 best results on a total of 8.
